  1. U realize that today’s turkey was Greece before the Muslims conquered it right?

  2. Sometimes I wish I was a archaeologist.

Finding things like this must be the best feeling in the world.

  3. I am surprised by all the sediment/ (for the lack of a better word) stuff that ended up on top of it over the years. Although I know 2,000 years, plus or minus half a millennium, is a lot of time for the accumulation of sediment/stuff to take place, I did not realize several feet/ meters could pile up that fast.

  4. That mosaic is outstandingly beautiful. I’m not surprised so much stuff was buried on top of it because that’s how cities were, and still are, built.

  5. I hope this place, and Gobekli Tepe didn’t collapse due to the earthquake. 🙁
